This Thanksgiving, I give thanks first and foremost for my family and friends.
I also give thanks for the generations of African and Native Americans who have fought bravely for this country in every war we’ve waged, Civil and otherwise, then returned to their homes where they were met with the very same discrimination and revolting racism that they’d left in order to serve.
And I give thanks for the millennia of Native Americans whose reverence for this land provided a pristine and breathtakingly beautiful and bountiful landscape for white men to conquer, desecrate and defile across centuries, with virtually no regard for future generations.
May the next generation break that cycle and may American racism, so rabid and so deeply anchored in our national soul, be fully acknowledged, exposed and beaten back at long last.
And, of course, fuck all anti-Semites throughout time. May those alive today die quick, painful deaths.
Gods bless America.
